Problems with Conversion to MP3 Format on Sync to Handheld
« on: December 14, 2010, 08:37:30 pm »

As inidicated in the title, this occurs when syncing a playlist containing both WMA files and MP3 files to "handheld." Th eoptions for this "device" are set to convert unsupported formats, with MP3 set as the only supported format. The native MP3 files move over fine and the WMA files get converted to MP3s, but... none of the Artist, Album or Genre tags are being populated in the newly converted MP3 files.

This occurs with both the LAME and GoGo encoders. In this case the "portable device" is actually another directory in a network share. The MC doing the syncing is connected to a Library Server. This was with build 156.

Anything I am doing incorrectly? Is this an MC bug?

Build 167 is on the MC15 board.  Please test with it.  Thanks.

Build 167 is on the MC15 board.  Please test with it.  Thanks.

That fixes the above problem after updating both Client and Server installs of MC to build 167. On the first sync there was some stangeness with some native MP3 files showing "Error" in the Status column, but that did not persist in subsequent syncs.

I'll keep my on in this, but sorry for the premature report of an issue.
