Automatic podcast downloads?

There's probably an easy answer to this, but how do I enable automatic downloads for podcasts? I have to manually download each episode. I have checked the appropriate boxes in 'feed properties' and it did it automatically when I first entered the feed address, but alas no longer. Thanks.
