Sony BDP-S570 update
« on: January 03, 2011, 05:14:19 pm »

I've got it working for music, images and video now.
The player is very limited in media types it supports. There are some pretty rough reviews of it's DLNA capability online.

However if you do the following:
Start with a generic DLNA profile then
Audio
Convert when necessary
MP3 medium bandwidth stream
Images
Conversion (and pick the image size to match your tv)
Video
Always convert
Encoder: MPEG2 (DVD) Stream (or the PAL one if you are in a PAL zone)
Under "Advanced" also set
DLNAExtra
DLNA Video Mimetype Override

Finally, for now anyway you need to add a variable to the server using regedit.
HKCU->Software->JRiver->Media Center 15->DLNA->Servers->Some guid
Do New->String Value
call it (exactly as you see below)
Video DLNA Override
right click on it and do modify
put in (exactly)
:DLNA-ORG_PN=MPEG_PS_NTSC;
or
:DLNA-ORG_PN=MPEG_PS_PAL;
Stop and restart MC and give it a try. Works for me. You may also be able to use "Convert When Necessary" for video and then the mpeg2 videos you have in your library won't be converted.
