Thanks for responding, but you didn't answer my question. I asked how to remove the playlists from the playlists menu, not reset or clear them. Someone please answer my question...

KS's response partially answers your question.
What he didn't mention was that you need to restart MJ.

If you do as he said, and restart MJ, then the playlist "Recently Imported" will not be there!

However, when next you import new files, the playlist "Recently Imported" will (necessarily) be recreated.
But with the setting of which KS advised checked, that playlist will be deleted when you exit MJ and will not reappear until you next import files.

I don't believe that "Top Hits" can be removed, despite KS's suggestion that it can.

Those playlists can only be emptied, but can not be removed from the tree as far as I know. They are "system" playlists and are always present. Just ignore them if you do not use them.

I personally find them quite useful (in particular the recently imported, for editing tags and analyze replay gain after an inport without searching the entire library)

I was only refering to the files in the list

Not the "Top Hits" Heading in the tree
