Looking for a DLNA preamp
« on: February 01, 2011, 08:21:54 pm »

I'd like to connect my PC (using MC15) to my home audio system using DLNA. I was thinking of an Integra DHC-40.2 AV Controller. After downloading and reviewing its instruction manual, I've discovered that it doesn't support FLAC and Ogg Vorbis file formats when being used for remote playback (ie as a renderer).

Since I intended to use the Integra as a renderer, I'm now looking for other options.

Can anyone recommend a AV preamp that will function as a DLNA renderer and support all of the common file formats (including FLACs).

Thanks.

Is the audio system close to the computer?  A good soundcard or USB DAC would work in that case.

Also, I wouldn't worry about FLAC support.  Most everything DLNA supports uncompressed WAV (including the JRiver Id), which will give the same quality.
