Hi,

I have a phone which has both 3G and 4G capability. In some areas, where 4G connection is spotty, the phone would occasionally keep switching between 3G and 4G. When this connection in change happens, Gizmo often stops playing back whatever audio track it is currently playing and sometimes skips to the next track.

I am using the latest Gizmo (on HTC EVO - froyo 2.2) with the latest MC16 (.56) running on Windows 7 64-bit.

Could Gizmo handle change in connectivity methods better? I see that pandora etc. applications handle connection changes (3G, 4G, WiFi etc.) much better.

Thanks,
Osho

That might be because the player itself is different.

I am not sure what you refer to by the player. As I see, Gizmo has its own player, no?

Gizmo uses the default player on the phone.

So, is this something that can be fixed by increasing a buffer setting somehow?

Thanks,

you can use gizmo over the internet? When I switch to WiFi on my Droid x it shuts down the 3g as it is not needed

Yes, of course. You may need to set-up port forwarding in some cases. But, Gizmo does work over the internet.

well I got some research to do then. I have never seen where gizmo will accept an IP or anything and even when on 3g it tries to connect to my private IP

The instructions are here:

Don't miss the link called "Network Access" there.
