problem playing low rate podcasts (22050 Hz)
« on: May 09, 2011, 12:47:26 pm »

When I try to play a podcast with a rate of 22050 Hz, i get an error message that my hardware cannot handle this rate, which is correct.

I know that I can setup some resampling, but that seems to be a system wide change, and I just finally got videos all playing properly, and that was partly due to me turning off all resampling.

Is there any way to get podcasts with this rate to be upsampled to at least 32000 Hz so my receiver can process them?  Without resampling anything else?

thanks

In DSP Studio > Output Format > Samplerate, you can select when to resample.

"Only sources less than 44,100 or greater than 48,000" for example.

I'll try this when I get home, but it was when I unchecked this "output format" option that I got bitstreaming and playback in general to work properly for video files, so I'm reluctant to turn it back on.

I have NO IDEA how or why this would have jacked up my video playback, but it seems to have been at least partly to blame.

anyway, I'll give it a shot later and report back.

any chance these values can be selectable?  my receiver can handle anything from 32000 to 192000, so I'd only want to convert below 32000, in an ideal world.

convert sources [less/greater] than [xxxxx] Hz, similar to a smartlist dialog (for example)

thanks

PS:  I'd really love to live in an ideal world  ;D

it seems this is working and not messing with video playback.

thanks.
