Is there an automated procedure for adding cover art to multiple DATA files?

Scenario:
- I have a folder with all my older game roms.  I also have the cover art image files for each game.  i.e., for "Donkey Kong" I also have a small thumbnail jpeg named "Donkey Kong.jpg".
- I imported my Nintendo ROMs, it shows up properly, and plays properly off of MC.  I know that I can go to Cover Art > Import From File to attach the image as the file's cover art.  I tested it out on Theater View and it works great.

However, I have about 2000 games.  I don't want to repeat that step 2000 times.  Is there an automated way to do this?  I have looked at the "Quick Find in File/Cover Art Directory" option but I don't really understand how this works (or if it even applies to data files).  For example, if I add the "Donkey Kong.jpg" to that folder, using "Quick Find in File/Cover Art Directory" option, is it suppose to import the image to file?  Is it suppose to be a different format?  Does "Quick Find in File/Cover Art Directory" apply to data files, or does this only apply to audio files?

it does not work for "data", you can try changing temporarly media type to video and then do the lookup

Do you mean add my datafile's extension (.nes) under video, then try to import it under video, and then try doing the automatic lookup?  And if that works, then import it again under documents and see if it kept the cover art?  Is that what you mean?

well, i suggest something like this

- create smartlist to show .nes files only
- add database field "media type" to the list
- select all files
- change media type from data -> video
- do the coverart lookup
- change back to mediatype data

Sadly, it didn't work.
"- change media type from data -> video"  <--THAT didn't work.
Media Center doesn't give me the option.  It recognizes that the files are Data, so from the drop-down box, my only choice is Data.
Oh well.. it was worth a shot.  Thank you.
