MJ 8.0.289 button paint intermittant problem...
« on: May 30, 2002, 06:19:31 pm »

Sometimes when first started up, the buttons at the top are not filled in with color. The area that changes upon mouseover is white, while the surrounding area is gray. After using the buttons, or on mouseover, or after adjusting the button bar size, the color fills in.  I have MJ in Mega-mode with no skins.  I've seen this on two machines; one running W2K, the other W98SE.

It could be an MJ problem, but it could, as Turbo says, be a video problem.  A driver update might solve it.  What video card are you using?

I don't know how to overclock my video card, so unless it is doing it by itself!

I do only have a misely 4Mb of memory! But, the other skins look great.

My card is a Video Card Matrox Mystique 220

I do have the latest drivers from Matrox.

A while back I did update to the latest DirectX and my video card diagnostic program has a problem with it??? It says I have an older version installed. It's a shame you cannot uninstall it without reistalling windows.

I'm not saying it is MJ either, but this same thing occurred many builds ago, and it went away! So... I don't know!

Thanks for the suggestions

I found this in a different thread!

But now the toolbar is painted white in unskinned mode - you have to restore the window and maximize it once again and everything is fine...that's life (-;

As I wrote in another thread, I have the same problems (but only with the last few builds).
My video card has an 'ati rage 128 pro' chip.

I don't think it's a problem with video driver.
It looks like you all have ComCtl32.dll: 5.50, the Toolbar control code is located in the ComCtl32.dll, I think that's what causing the problem.

We will do more testing and will try to solve the problem.
