MC16 no subtitles anymore
« on: June 19, 2011, 03:31:11 pm »

with MC15 I don't have automatic switchs to any home cinema sound.
you advised to use MC16 with red october.
installed 16.0.110 and sound problem resolved.
BUT: I've no subtitles anymore
.srt files + setting DirectVobSub (auto loading)
spoken language original to movie, subtitles Dutch (Belgium)
why does this work with MC15 and not with MC16?

It also worked with earlier versions of MC16, just not .110 or .111. Hopefully it gets fixed soon. At my system it does work with Red October enabled (standard or HQ) but not in Windows Merit mode, which I am using.

My EVO files (HD-DVDs) won't play with Red October. They play with Windows Merit using Haali, ffdshow and EVR. Also, I like playing around with different filters having full control.

Even if I decide use Red October some time in the future when all the wrinkles are ironed out, Windows Merit should still be a fully working option. It seems to me that some Directshow problem arose in the last few builds causing VSfilter not to load properly. If I get out of Display mode, right click the Haali taskbar icon and select the subtitle stream, I get an error saying there's no decoder to decode the stream.

BTW can I use Red October and still configure ffdshow audio/video manually?

Yes.  Using the Advanced -> With Additional Filters choices.
