Reripping CD's - Easiest way to preserve tags?
« on: July 04, 2011, 09:16:33 am »

I'm cleaning up my CD collection and I want to rerip them in FLAC before putting them in cold storage. What's the easiest way to rerip them while preserving tags, play counts, etc? Is this a job for stacks?

I worked out a small procedure a couple of years ago. Maybe someone has additional ideas, but at least it gives you a start.

Thanks, I found your Wiki post from the previous thread.

One question; does Replay Gain info get copied to the reripped version from the previous file? I do have some original CDs I am replacing with new, remastered versions and I could see the Replay Gain being substantially different between the versions.
