Media Center 16.0.128 Crash on Import
« on: July 31, 2011, 09:43:00 pm »

I have just installed Media Center 16.0.128 on a new Windows7 pc. Registered fine. Now when I go to the Tools>Import I get "Media Center 16 has stopped working" with the option to close or debug.
Strangly, the auto import does run fine!
I have done the recommended uninstall, reboot, reinstall. Nothing changed. While doing this I could not find how to remove the existing registration. When I did the reinstall, my original registration held.

This version is a bit behind that posted on the this board.

Try downloading and installing from here: http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=65547.0

Does it crash right when you click Tools > Import, or only once you start the import?

Does it only crash if you import a certain folder?

You could use Help > Logging and look at the previous log after a crash.  Post the portion here that contains the word "crashing".

If I do hit the debug option there is the following information "An unhandled win32 exception occured in Media Center 16.exe [2744]"

The crash does happen shortly (a few seconds) after selecting Tools > Import.

I have changed the application to "Run as Administrator" and that has fixed it.

Thanks for the help. Please let me know if you would like to know more debugging.
