MC 16 + MP101 can’t play audio

Re: MC 16 + MP101 can’t play audio
I have spent several days trying to get the trial version of MC 16 to work with my 4 MP101s.
With every audio file I get the “item is temporarily unavailable” error.

My MP101 is using the Vista/W7 compatible firmware, I installed this beta firmware because I had the issue of playing one audio file and not being able to play the next, so I assumed that XP-SP3 was acting like Vista/Win7.  I need to run the server on XP SP3.

Here is my system info from MC:
Media Center 16.0.128.0 C:\Program Files\J River\Media Center 16\
Microsoft Windows XP 5.1 Service Pack 3 (Build 2600)
Intel Pentium III 2671 MHz MMX / Memory: Total - 3135 MB, Free - 1254 MB   (Actually I use an Intel Core i7 2.67 GHz)
Internet Explorer: 8.0.6001.18702 / ComCtl32.dll: 5.82.2900 / Shlwapi.dll: 6.0.2900 / Shell32.dll: 6.0.2900 / wnaspi32.dll: N/A
Ripping /   Drive F:   Mode:ModeSecure  Type:Auto  Speed:Max
  Drive L:   Mode:ModeSecure  Type:Auto  Speed:Max
Digital playback: Yes /  Get cover art: Yes /  Calc replay gain: Yes /  Copy volume: 32767
Eject after ripping: Yes /  Play sound after ripping: No
Burning /  Drive L: SONY     DVD RW DRU-840A    Addr: 1:1:0  Speed:40  MaxSpeed:40  BurnProof:Yes
Test mode: No /  Eject after writing: Yes /  Direct decoding: Yes /  Write CD-Text: Yes
  Use playback settings: No /
Portable Device Info
  Removed devices:
Interface Plugins:
  TiVo Server (Active)

Where so I troubleshoot this problem?

I should add that my music files are on a Netgear Readynas NV+.

Please , I want to buy this product but not until it works for me.

Thanks, Nick

Bump.

I have wasted hours screwing around with this product and am about ready to pull the plug.

I know I haven't configured the MC 16 correctly but your wikis all talk about previous stuff that doesn't even exist in MC 16.

Give me a break!

Is there a checklist somewhere that can walk me through setting this MC 16 to work on a MP101, of for that matter, since I haven't gotten MC 16 to work on two other PCs, (win7 WMC and XP WMC), setting it up to work on anything else?

I really like the advertised flexibility but have yet to see any result.

P.S.  I am not buying this program with some feeling that I can make it work. /RANT

For those of us who don't know what an MP101 is and how or what you are trying to do to get it to work, could you please explain?

What steps have you taken so far?

Simply saying "This is my system and I can't get it to work" is fairly meaningless, TBH.

The MP101 is a netgear MP101.

It is an outdated audio streamer that works well with my system.
