Refresh rate change is working well for me for all my saved files, but for media that 'streams' - either network (eg. podcasts) or TV, they do not change the refresh rate.

Please can MC16 remember what the refresh rate is for each medium. eg. for me TV would be 25fps or 50i (UK), but most network streams are 29.97fps or 60i originating from the US. MadVR detects the right fps on the OSD, but the refresh rate does not change. I assume that the point at which the splitter detects the fps of the stream is too late for MC16 to change the rate. But, if MC16 remembered that for that particular podcast or TV channel what the fps was the last time it played and tagged this, then it might work.
