Playback seek issue with Build 149
« on: August 16, 2011, 03:08:33 pm »

I am unable to seek through audio-only .ts files in the latest build, though this worked fine in build 128 and earlier.  These are radio files captured using a DVB-S card, so are saved in transport stream format and MC plays them as 'video' even though they contain audio only.  Note that  regular video .ts files work fine, the only problem is the audio-only files.

Also, the previous change outlined in this thread (http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=64449.0) is not so helpful for these audio-only files (though of course is great for video ones). Could this fade-in be made configurable or even automatically disabled for audio-only .ts files?

I pasted my playback filter graph below (which is identical in build 128 and 149) in case that helps.  Please let me know if other information could be useful to troubleshoot the seek issue.

Do you have a way to share a small sample file?  You could email it to matt at jriver dot com if it's around 30 MB or less.

Thanks.

Thanks Matt - email sent.  As the files are audio only, the size is quite small.  Title of email to look out for is 'Playback Seek Issue - sample'

Hi Matt,

Did you have a chance to look at this and figure out the issue?  Let me know if you need more clips or anything.

Thanks!

Excellent!  Look forward to testing.  Did you also consider the other option about fade up / down for seeking with audio-only .ts files?

It will be played as audio, so it will honor your audio playback settings for seeking, fading, etc.

New build works great! Seeking is fine, and no more fade in / out either :)  Thanks so much!
