Current Girder plug in status...
« on: May 25, 2002, 06:16:04 am »

OK Girder has changed since 3.0 which is what your plug in is listed for...

Now at 3.2 Girder wants GML's not GXR's...

I also notice that your plug in states it is for v7 anyway...

So whats the v8 status ?? If its not done yet let me know and I will try and hussle you up a comprehensive keyboard mappped girder GML ASAP.. If I need to know anything in detal about the Girder plug in format rather than simple key control as listed in the help file shout it at me ASAP... ALso if anyone wants a Pronot CCF with linked RC5 or RC6 to the GXR should be easy but my laptop with pronto edit is at work so not till after the weekend (plus my GFX skills are poor) but I can cludge the commands easy enough it will be up to you to make it pretty...

I am not flooding these minor bugs or major (Next Page) feature requests trying to be a PITA only to be helpful honest...

Hmmm... More to this that I initially imagined !!!

Any hint on what 'target' window or combination of windows works well.... I have had absolutely no luck with any of them including the ugly and dirty send to foreground window only which I would not have been happy with but would have been ok for a test...

I am assuming something needed to be special to make you guys create an Girder plug in... I have looked at the old GXR with a text editor and the targetclass was "MJ Girder Plugin" Yet even with that active in v8 it is not visable as a process...

Has anyone tried Girder with v8 yet ?

Got it....

Setting Alternative Process... Using the Class 'Static' and send to invisible windows has gained me the transport controls...

Will keep reporting any problems..

OK well I have now got transport controls done... Navigation controls as well as 'Jump to' are all functioning but this app has a very variable set of target process'es for control... Methinks this was why there was a Girder plug in available...

In truth I have had no joy at finding a 'Girder Plug in' process / task / variable / child / etc... So I have just been doing keyboard keystrokes sent to target windows... Works so far...

I have no joy for volume |PLS|- or mute... Could I buy a clue as to what process / child / window / etc I could attempt targetting on ?? I can of course target the windows mixer and control the PC volume directly (and will do for my personal control system) but that kind of defeats the purpose of making a MJv8 GMR for you if I have to do control outside of MJ !!!

I am also still really searching for how to fire an album 'playlist' or similar... I can see AV is doing this so it must be possible but again I would like to buy a clue...

Do any / many of you use a remote and or Girder to control the application.. Getting this wired will really help the HTPC folks...

I don't want to hold you from creating a new girder group, but why don't you just get the converters from Girder's download page?
There's one that takes the .gxr to 3.1's .gml and a second one that replaces some device ids that have changed for 3.2 (you won't need that probably).
MJ's Girder plugin works for V8 (at least for the stuff I tested).

You Sir, are a gentleman and a scholar.... I tip my hat to you...

The nav buttons seem odd in testing... But my navs work so a merge is fine...

Still really need a way to fire an album... Simple task ?
