Hi,
When playing a CD from the CD drive, which i often do as i have 1000's and sometimes dont want it in the library, the CD rom drive runs at max speed for about 20-30 sec of each track, which is very noisy and spoils the listening
I have turned off Play from Memory, and reduced the prebuffering, in case they were causing it. Its is definetly a setting in MC as the drive runs at minimum speed when playing a CD via microsoft media player.

any ideas?

Drive is a Plextor USB PX-L890UE

Using plextools requires the speed control to be set for each CD inserted.
