Letter jump when scrolling on ipod classic video??

I've also noticed on my ipod classic that when i scroll through songs fast that the alphabet changes improperly. It'll go from A to P then to G. Is this a bug? It could be this that is causing the problem too.

What exactly are the artist, album, and track names that make this occur?

Take a look at the tag dump for the tracks in question.  You probably have an artist sort tag of some variant (TSO2, TSOP, or TSOA), which is sorting in a Last Name, First Name order.

Why would that make the alphabet search bounce all over the place?

So 2 problems.

1. When scrolling fast on the ipod classic the alphabet bounces all over the place.
2. Can do an alphabet search for artists on my Pioneer Avic. It just says "nothing found" when selecting A,B...

This all disappears when I set the ipod up in Itunes and add songs from there.

Is there something that Media Center does differently that my Pioneer is looking for?
