JRiver won't allow a change in the library
« on: December 14, 2011, 06:56:10 pm »

I made a mistake in the composer name field when I ripped a CD, using DBpoweramp.  I corrected the mistake in JRiver (renaming the composer in the composer field). However, JRiver has somewhere stored the incorrect name data so that when I exit and come back into the program it brings back the old, incorrect name.  I have tried clearing the library and re-importing.  That does no good.  I tried to disable all auto update or auto correct features that I could find.   I am bringing in my music off an external hard drive (D: drive), and the data is correct on that drive.  Evidently, JRiver is storing data on the C: drive ( or perhaps going out to the D: drive and storing the incorrect data there).
How can I correct this problem and insure it does not happen in the future.

Is the file format WAV or AIFF?

If yes, you may need to enable WAV and AIFF tagging. If the option is disabled the tag changes are stored only in the library (= MC's database) and when the file properties are re-read or the files are imported to a different MC library the old tag values from the physical file tags will show up. You can find instructions here: http://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/WAV_%26_AIFF_Tagging
