DLNA/UPNP zones

quick question is there a way to make another system running MC14seen as a zone on another system running MC14 or newer

What I am trying to do is this I have a whole house audio system setup based on MC14 what I am trying to do is simply add another zone by using a netbook so that I don't have to run a new set of cables

I don't have a definitive answer for you, but know that MC has been updated significantly in the area of DLNA in version 15, 16 and now 17.  Version is pretty far behind the curve now...

If you're using Media Center on both systems, you can use Library Server.
