Can anyone help me with the ST-600?  I have not been able to get JRiver 16 or 17 to "see" the device.  I thought the device had no SSDP capability, but Twonky sees it as a ST DMR-5524 and works fairly well - I can push content from Twonky to the ST-600.  I'm hoping to find the right combination of DLNA Server options so that the ST-600 can be seen!  Any other settings that have been found to work with the ST-600 would also be appreciated.

I don't see that model number on a product search on dlna.org. Perhaps it's using a protocol other than DLNA that twonky supports?
Do you see other renderers under Playing Now in MC?

I can't find it at DLNA.org, either.  LG has always claimed DLNA certification as a media player:

Can you install the free upnp developer tools (used to be called intel upnp tools) and run the device spy.
Check to see if the LG shows up and if it has AVTransport, ConnectionManager and RenderingControl.
You can right click on the device and get the device XML and post it here.

When I looked at my Linksys router's DHCP table, it would always show the device and the address assigned to it, but there was always a friendly name of "none."  Same thing with a network scanner on my iPhone - it always showed a friendly name of "none" for my LG ST-600.  And JRiver wouldn't find the device at all.

So... started to wonder - perhaps the long LG friendly name with multiple spaces (LG ST DMR--5524) isn't such a good friendly name.  So, changed the device's friendly name to "ST600" by going to the device's presentation page.  Reboot router.

FIXED.  Now JRiver sees the device, gives it its own zone, and plays to it like a champ.  I'm going to work on tweaking JRiver's settings to best fit the ST-600, but I'm a very happy camper.

Don't think this would have come to me unless I had downloaded and used Intel's "Device Spy."  Thank you very much!

Oh how interesting!
Just for kicks, I decided to plug that name into the Friendly Name string on one of our renderers and guess what? It says "Your Friendly name has special characters, these are not allowed. Change it and try again.". It looks like it's the "-" character that's illegal. Oh heck LG!

Yes, I think it was pretty careless, too.  The LG ST-600 had a very rough start with a lot of bugs, but it's still a good product.  But I sure like it a lot better now that JRiver sees it and works dandy with it.  Problem solved!!  Thanks again for your help - interesting detective challenge.

How do you get to the ST600 presntation page in order to change the st600 friendly name?
