Remote playback buffering
« on: May 13, 2002, 09:07:19 pm »

Playback at work (from my library at home) stops to buffer every couple of seconds. Assume that the bitrate that is being streamed is too fast for my work connection - anyone know how to slow it up - or if there is, indeed, another factor entirely?

May be the bitrate of the files you're streaming. Even w/a T-1, I find anything over 128 is dicey. Also believe there is an issue streaming wma, although I don't use that format.

Yeah, I added a request to the Wish List for this allowing us to specify the size of the buffer.
That would fix most streaming problems as long as they're not too major.
Just set a higher buffer so that it can take a few jams without the music stopping.
If you have winamp installed it'll let you do this.

Download the latest version.

U can set it in there.
