I have an IPod Video and use Rockbox as the operating system. It was working fine with FLAC files loaded onto the Ipod with J River Media Jukebox. I wanted to delete all files off the player, which I did with J River Media Jukebox by highlighting files on the Ipod and selecting "delete". I restored the Ipod with Itunes then reinstalled Rockbox. Now, when I try to sync the Ipod with J River it says "Device Information cannot be retrieved, please reboot your PC and retry". I re-boot and get the same message. I restored the Ipod with Itunes then reinstalled Rockbox again, and still get the same message. Unplugged from the computer the Ipod running Rockbox seems fine, except for when you try to access the database it just freezes on "Building Database... 519 found (Prev to return)", so it seems like it is still finding metadata from the old files even after Ipod restore. I am able to boot up into the Apple OS on the Ipod and it will sync/restore with I tunes.
