Too much memory?

Last time it happens regularly MC will use much memory (80.000 kB) and the program stops. I never had such problems with MC. Are there people with the same experience? If so, do you know how to resolve it?

My specs:

AMD Athlin 64X2 Dual Core 6400+   - 3,20 GHz
4,00 GB memory

Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bits.

No idea what the problem is, but think about what has changed.  Any new software?  Any plug-ins for MC?
