irman remote sensor
« on: May 06, 2002, 06:24:52 pm »

i just purchased an irman and i am having trouble getting it to work. it seems when i use the irman plugin for mj it thinks every button i press on my remote is the same. it does this with several remotes. can somebody tell me how to use girder or something else to get this working?

I have the same problem, how did You solve it? With Girder (NOT the Girder plugin...) the control works. But it's a lot slower to control MJ via mjextman.exe parameter controls. That's the only way I found which works so far.

I just use Girder to send keypresses to the foreground app. It's a lot quicker than mjextman and has the advantage that you can use the same controls (cursor keys, return, tab etc.) for lots of apps.

Markus-

When you are doing the "training" session in MJ for the remote control, are you pressing the correct mode button first (e.g. TV, or VCR, SAT, etc.)?

My remote Control doesn't have any switch for that. And with girder it works fine, the recognition of the buttons, i mean. An encountered exactly the same problem with a second remote control.
But never mind, I figured out a complete sufficient workaround using girder.
   Thank You very much!
