I DJ using an Creative USB Soundblaster Audigy 2 NX. I need to output mono through the main stereo pair.

Using the DSP Studio Output Format, I set the output channels to 1 channel (mono). When I'm using the Audigy 2 NX, I get nothing from the mains. Without the Audigy, using the laptop's built in speakers as well as the headphone jack, I get the desired mono.

Using any setting other than 1 channel (mono) works great with the Audigy.

I have a workaround to achieving mono, using channel mixing on the Parametric Equalizer panel, which works fine with the Audigy. However, I just really wish the direct approach in the Output Format panel would work with the Audigy.

Any clues?

Cheers,
Jeff

By default, we play mono to 2 channels.

If you force mono in DSP Studio > Output Format, we'll try to open the device for one channel output.

I'm not sure if most drivers support this nicely.

Using Parametric Equalizer is a good approach.  I do something similar to get several stereo zones out of a surround sound card, and it works great.
