the string,  ListItem([Filename (path)], Math(ListCount([Filename (path)], \) - 1), \)
no longer displays the folder name when multiple files are in that folder. this happened after upgrading to version 17.0.129

Curious.  It works for me in both 129 and 132.

Btw. there is also now the new FileFolder() expression.  These are equivalent to the expression above:

   FileFolder()
   FileFolder(,0)

odd. only folders with a single file into it works. display is left blank for anything over 1 file...

It's there listed in the reply above; either of:

   FileFolder()
   FileFolder(,0)

will do the trick.

thanks Matt, i do have the latest J river 17.0.132, but same issue. will try the new expression mentioned above when i get home. will let you know if that works.

I tried both strings above, still doesn't fix the issue. i'm at a loss. it doesn't make much sense.

I should mention, that if there is more than one of the same file type in the folder, it doesn't show folder name. having one video and one Jpg seems to be fine, but if 2 or more videos in the folder, the display folder name goes blank.

Can you show a screenshot of this in a panes view?  Add a pane with an expression column from your first post.  Be sure the filename (full path and file) is showing in the file list below.

is this what you are after? all the blanks in the folder column are multiple video files in that folder, eg series tv shows.

What is the file / folder listing under one of these?  For example, under E:\Video\Big Bang Theory, The S4.

I'm guessing that the code that catches and manages DVD and Blu-ray sub-folders is being tripped up by multiple items.

if you mean what files in the folder,
they are

The Big Bang Theory [2.01].avi
"                           "[2.02].avi
through to [2.23]

there are also MKV files in other folders and MP4,  all have same issue

if i remove all but one file from folder, after J river refreshes the library, the folder name shows. i place the files back, jriver refreshes and folder label gone again.

I'm failing to reproduce this (see attached) from the information available.  The only things I can think of now are a) PM me an playlist export showing all files/fields, or b) wait until Matt or someone asks for a Library.

Select all you tracks from the view that shows the problem.  Use File > Export Playlist and set the Format to Text File (CSV delimited).  Select All Fields under Included Files, and select All under Output Range.

Hit OK, and this will generate a text file you can email.  Send it via PM if you can.

really odd. i don't get it either. it was fine, has has been fine for ages. only the last couple of updates have affected it. I've even re-installed JRiver.
