Custom command line for MP3 encoder
« on: May 05, 2002, 11:16:13 am »

Why is it that I can no longer enter custom command line options for the MP3 encoder?

May be a different encoder.  Which one is it?

System info from MJ Help will be useful.

I'm using the built-in LAME encoder.  When I select the MP3 encoder and click on the "Advanced" button, I no longer have the option to enter a custom command line.  Here's the system info:

Media Jukebox  8.0.265

CPU: Intel Pentium III 803 MHz MMX
Memory: Total - 261 MB, Free - 52 MB
OS: Microsoft Windows XP  Workstation 5.1  (Build 2600)

Internet Explorer: 6.0.2600.0000
ComCtl32.dll: 6.00.2600.0000
Shlwapi.dll: 6.00.2600.0000
Shell32.dll: 6.00.2600.0000
wnaspi32.dll: N/A

Hi Lerxt,

The custom command line option is still available , but you need to select it from the Quality pulldown after you select Advanced. MJ now has Normal, High Speed, High Quality and Custom command line in the pulldown

When I open the pulldown, my only options are Normal, High Speed, and High Quality.

I've just looked at our two system infos, and the only difference I see is that I have a Plus licence. Could this be the reason of the difference?

Try settings/options/encoding.

That's what I've been doing.  Is claudio correct in that this is only available in the Plus version?
