Error--Failed to connect Audio to source / splitter.
« on: August 31, 2012, 09:37:00 pm »

I am trying to play my iTunes movies after importing them to MC.  I just installed MC a couple of days ago so I quess
I have the newest version.  I can play movies that I have ripped or that were on my HD but not the M4V iTunes files.
Any help with the error--Failed to connect to audio Source / Splitter.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  One
movie will start but then freezes as soon as it starts but all others will not even start.

Welcome.

Are the movies protected by DRM?  If so, you won't be able to play them natively.

Media Center can use the QuickTime engine for video playback of Apple DRM'd files if it's installed.  This will bypass our audio engine, but it's better than nothing.

You can force M4V to use the QuickTime engine in Options > File Types.
