Cannot access server on MC 17.0.186
« on: September 25, 2012, 09:26:46 pm »

I have to say that everything worked fine on the several versions before 17.0.186.

I have all of my music on an external drive on the main PC.

I use a small laptop in the living room to access the music on the main PC.

Everything on the server works ok.

On the laptop, from MC's Drives and devices, I can see the external drive and play music from it.

However, I cannot establish the link to the library on the main PC (no playlists, etc).

I enter the access key on the laptop, it tries to connect and comes out with the "Error loading library" window.

I un-installed and re-installed MC with no results.

Any ideas??

Is it possible that you have more than one server running?  MC17 and MC18, for example?

What are you running on the laptop? If you are running MC as a client you don't put in an access key, you just load the library so I'm somewhat in the dark as to your setup.
I just tried a client-server setup with 17.0.186 and it worked fine.

You are correct Bob...guess I was complicating my life for nothing!

But the access key method was working for me before.  But as you mentioned, I just load the library as local and everything looks (and sounds) ok.

Many thanks!
