Thank you JRiver for developing such an excellent media player.

I am curious to know if it is possible to have separate ratings values for albums and then for the individual tracks which make up the album.

As it is now, if I choose to give an album a rating the program (inaccurately) goes ahead and assigns that value to each track on the album.

Tools > Option > Library & Folders > Manage Library Fields > Add New Field

Name the new field, like "Rating (Ablum)"
Set "Data Type" to "Interger"
Set "Relational" to "Store one value for each album"
Set "Edit Type" to "Five Stars"
Set "Acceptable Values" to "1;2;3;4;5"
Optional, Check the "Save in file tags (when possible)"
Optional, Set "Search keywords" to something easy to remember, maybe like "ra="
Click "OK"

Now add the new field to your views.

Is ist possible to calculate the album rating as the average from the ratings of the tracks from the album? 
I got that idea when i saw there is a expression editor.

I have followed your instructions and now have the ability to assign separate values for albums and tracks - that's just great man!



Also, the new Album Rating field and corresponding values are being save in the files ID Tags - Brilliant!



One problem remaining:  At this point I am not able to filter through my library using these new values.

On "restarting the program" Negative.   The new values are assigned to the files but still no ability to filter.
