Web/Webservice API --> create and edit playlist
« on: November 28, 2012, 10:18:12 am »

Hello,

when will it be able to create/edit/del Playlists over the web api. I think this is an essential Feature to make JRiver one of the best Media Center Solutions.
I am missing this Basic Feature also in JRemote.

regards faster

This is already in v18:
SDK: Added MCWS/v1/Playback/EditPlaylist function for moving or removing tracks from the current playlist.

Editing regular playlists is scheduled for v18, but I'm not sure when it will happen.

I strongly second this.

We can already edit tags and ability to edit playlists is the missing killer API feature.

For example, I need to edit regular playlists (not just current playing one) for a program that goes over the playlists and replaces the songs with better versions if I have one. (replace stack elements with stack top). I have already all the code, but currently the updated playlists are created externally and there is no decent way of importing them while maintaining their folder structure.
