I do hate to post a new topic but i've searched for some time with no joy

I am VERY new to JRiver i am trying to combine the best of WMC and XBMC and this looks like a powerful tool to do that.

I have a TBS 6981 DVB S2 card and i can scan and find a massive number of channels
these are shown in drives and devices>EPG

i will tidy up all the DUP and Null entries along with encrypted channels later

the channels i expect to playback do so

if i switch to theater view only a few channels are displayed / listed I'm trying to understand why all the channels are not shown can someone point me in the right direction please?

I suppose you are talking about the number of channels listed under "Guide" in Theater View.

The list contains guide data.  If a channel is not associated with any guide data, it will not be listed.  Perhaps this is the problem?  Maybe some channels are not properly associated with the guide data.  You can run EPG loading manually and pay attention to the channel <-> guide association and see if some channels are not properly associated.  Sometimes automatic matching fails and you need to do some manual matching.
