detecting disk drives doesn't work correctly in MC18
« on: January 07, 2013, 09:23:27 pm »

I have 2 CD/DVD drives.  They are:  D:\ LG WH14NS40   E:\ Optiarc AD-7260S.  The Optiarc is a DVD-RW.  The LG drive is also a DVD-RW/BD-RW.  in the Tools > Burning > Drives it shows both drives as being the first drive (D before E)  Even when I select "Redetect" nothing changes.  The LG is a new drive, just installed last week.  Under Windows 8 Device manager, it detects the drives correctly.  I always use the Optiarc to rip and burn, but when I try to rip a CD with the E:\ Optiarc drive, MC18 returns the following error: "Read track failed. Parameter is out of range.  Rip failed".  I changed drive letters, and it still just reads the first one and applies that ID to both.  What the heck is going on here?  Any help is appreciated.
