Reinstalling MC 18
« on: January 10, 2013, 12:45:56 pm »

I have been experiencing occasional crashes (MC18 is not responding message in Windows 8 ) when playing something using Play Doctor.
My first thought is to uninstall/reinstall MC 18 to see if that might help out.

My question is, if I uninstall, will I lose all the custom settings I have done to configuration through Options?
If so, how would I backup so I can Restore settings?

Running:
Windows 8
MC18 v18.0.106 (1/3/2012)
Red October using the decoding built into madVR
WASAPI output

Thanks

When you uninstall, there are two choices in the uninstaller that control this:  You can choose to remove registry entries (settings) and/or also remove your Library files.

You'd probably want to do neither.

For the record, though, the normal Library Backups (made periodically automatically, but you can also make one manually easily) contain all of the user settings as well.
