Changing views in 'panes'
« on: January 18, 2013, 01:43:32 pm »

I have MC loaded on two computers, and have synched libraries.  As far as I can tell, the settings are the same on both, but one shows all the files just as a list with no headings or spaces between the albums.  The other computer has the albums grouped together with a heading for each one, and even sorts albums by date when I select a particular artist, even though that's not one of my columns.  This is how I want it, but can't seem to figure out what the difference is to make the other computer look the same.

I'd insert a screen capture, but I can't figure that out, either.

Thanks,

Curt

In each view's tab, there is a pull down list, that offers:

  List Style
  Group By
  Sort By
  Columns

Some of these won't be there, depending upon the type of view in use: Categories, Panes, 3D, File List.

In a Panes view (select it under Customize View), the Group by is in the view tab's pulldown.  Or if you use a Categories view, the Group By pull down is just above the file list.  Then you can set the criteria for grouping the files.

Also be sure to set the list style to Thumbnails or Album Thumbnails.
