  • LIFE IS A RADIO... CRANK IT UP TO 11!

ive tried searching here and on google (JRiver DTS, jriver thx, jriver thx view, jriver sound filed views) but cannot seem to find any results.

How would i go about making a view that shows just DTS/THX files for all my audio and video files? (Surround sound format view/sorted by format)

thanks in advance

THX is a certification, its not a sound format.  It's like a diploma for your receiver:

DTS is a surround sound fomat, used primarily for video files (but in rare cases for audio surround files).

A similar surround sound format is "Dolby Digital".

Is what you are trying to do, is create a view that only shows surround format files ?

correct. but in groups if possible (sorted by Sound Format/Certification.... DTS, THX, Dolby Digital etc..)

I Use to work for audio king, and have alot of DVD Audio/Video demo disks, also there are quite a few motion pictures where the THX/DTS/Dolby is just phenomenal. (matrix, gladiator, fifth element)

I guess i figured the meta data MAY have the sound formats/certifications as shown on the back of dvd's when purchased.

  • Your life is short. Give me your money.

Create a new list field, such as Format, and add values such as DTS, THX, etc. and build your view on those.

Matt explained why these values are not available until after playback starts:

Again, DTS and Dolby Digital are audio formats for movies.

THX is an organization (founded by George Lucas) that gives your movie setup a "seal of approval".

The only things in common is that they have to do with movies, and they have three initials.
