Error message trying to scan CD Covers (repost)
« on: April 09, 2002, 02:56:13 pm »

I have been trying to add album art to my library.
Everything works fine until I do the final scan, then I get the message Runtime Error, Program:c:\Programs\jriver\mediajukebox\mediajukebox.exe-Abnormal Program Termination.
Upon clicking o.k. to close program I then get the followinbg: The instruction "0x73dd1351" referenced memory "0x0000004". The memory could not be "read". Click o.k. to terminate. Media Jukebox then closes and I am left without being able to save cover.

Dave - post the System Info from the Help menu and maybe it will trigger something with someone.

I use cover art a lot but I never scan anything.

I scan group photos from albums (rather than the cover art) into jpg files, then select add from the properties/image box. I've never had a problem (with many, many CDs). What is the"final scan"? Elaborate a tad on the process please.

One presumes you can scan with other applications?

How about with applications, like maybe a image editor, not supplied with your scanner, that has to use the (vendor supplied) TWAIN support.

Also, pretend for a second that you are talking to a tech support person, and answer all the questions they would ask.  Start with the stuff from Help/System Information, then add details as necessary.  Like is the scanner USB, SCSI, or a "Multi(useless)Function" printer?

Then maybe somebody with a similar setup will try following your steps.  For instance I have a Win98 laptop and a USB scanner sitting around...

System info:
Performance Test:
Refresh Time: 297 ms

CPU Info:

Type: Genuine Intel Pentium 4
Speed: 1793 MHz
MMX Support: YES

Memory Info:
Memory Load: 53%
Total Physical Memory: 261 MB
Free Physical Memory: 122 MB

OS Info:
Type: Microsoft Windows XPVersion: 5.1  (Build 2600)

Misc Info:

It is a Epson USB scanner and I have no problems scanning through my image editor software.
Twain compliant scanner. Preview scan works fine then when doing final scan, I get the error messages previously stated.
