MC 18 TV Tuner crashes
« on: February 05, 2013, 03:32:00 pm »

I'm currently running SageTV and hoping MC 18 might be a replacement.

I'm Running,
MC 18.0.128
Windows xp sp2
ATI Theater 550 Pro PCI-e card
STB with svideo out to ATI Card

xml import works fine including channel extraction (very nice) Mediaportal could learn something from this IMO.
Blaster learning indicates it's learning but I haven't been able to confirm it's actually working.
The remote/receiver/blaster is an MCE V1 device.

Any time a channel is selected in theater mode or not MC crashes.
Any time I select analog scan on the ATI card MC crashes.

I also had a wintv-pvr-350 in the box but MC didn't seem to completely see it (no recording format available) so I removed it to simplify the setup.

I read there's a wiki item on generating logs.  I'll head over there now and see what I can get.

Any suggestions would be great.

Thanks,

Ron

Just saw the sticky fo r logs.  Will get some logs tonight when I get home.

The instruction on sending logs is in the thread linked below:

Okay, I've generate two log files.

First one was for selecting a channel to view.
Crashed, then restarted and dumped the log.
Did a reset
Selected an analog channel scan.
Crashed, then restarted and dumped the log.

Should I send them to you?

Thanks,

Ron

I'm having a similar problem along with other problems as well and this is a fresh install (both mc and win8). The channel scanner gets about 5 channels and then nothing happens, mc still works it just as if the channel scanning is doing nothing.

Please update to build 129 and try again.  If that does not solve the problem, email me a log.

I'm already running 129. it finds 6 channels and does nothing, even after hours of waiting.

I got it to work finally. I had to reinstall it and I installed windows media center and got the tuners working in that (it installed play ready). I then tried a channel scan again and it worked.
