Je m excuse mais j ai perdu le papier pour l encoder.Et,bien sur,je n arrive pas a retrouver les posts de l autre jour
Can you tell me how to run the MPC external encoder?Do i have to open it in the JRiver folder?
Tell me again the settings in MJ external encoder ,i want "extreme"
Concerning tags.The SHN files i get have  number |PLS|shn as tags.Better to tag the wav files?Or the MPC files?But i understand you cannot tag MPC?
By tags,i mean something like it
Blueground Undergrass -  Bottom Line N.Y. - date - set 1 -name of the song
Is this to much for a tag?I have also a 1kb data file with names of the songs,place and date that i can include in the cd i want to make

In this case better to "tag less"? Let say band-place -date-set?
I would like to know.Because with a 13 000 kp/s  connection,it takes half a day to download a concert.And i do not feel like to mess around

Salut Zevele,

To operate the mpc extrenal encoder first download the last version (mppenc 1.0)
from http://www.uni-jena.de/~pfk/mpp/#encoder-binaries.
Unzip and install it in any directory you like.
Configure the External Encoder in Settings/Options/Encoder so that the
EXE Path point to the directory where you previously installed mppenc
The Parameters line should be : --xtreme %IN %OUT
and set the extension : mpc.
You should then be able to encode at the xtreme quality settings

Zev You can perfectly tag mpc file using the usual id3v1 tags or better the APE
tags using the new MJ8 mpc/mp|PLS| plugin.
But maybe what you call tags are just filename conventions ? In that case I don't think
it is wise to pack to much informations in the filename.

I do not know if i speak about tags or filenames conventions for the good raison i cannot say the difference between the 2.What i mean is to keep this indications when putting the MPC files on a cd,as MPC ,not redbook.And see them when i play the cd on MJ
