Hi all
I've recently installed the following system:
  • JRiver MC18, running on Asrock ION HTPC (Atom 525 @1.8GHz, 4GB Ram, 64GB SSD, Win7-64bit).
  • The MC18 priority is set to "High" in Task-Manager.
  • Drobo FS NAS.
  • Sonos system, having 3 end-points with their own wireless bridge.
  • TP-LINK 1043ND GbE wireless router (3way MIMO, 300Mbps) connecting the above 3 items with CAT5E cables.
  • JRemote running on iPhone 4 (iOS 6). Connected to MC-18 using Access-Key.
MC-18 sees the Sonos units as DLNA rendering units.
The reason I'm not using Sonos own library, is its size limitation, which is really annoying, especially with classical music (long track names etc).
I'm controlling MC-18 through JRemote (iPhone) and Gizmo (MacBook) - both connect through the wireless router.

The problems I'm experiencing:
1. JRemote often loses connection with MC18, even though the wireless coverage is excellent.
2. Playback though Gizmo is erratic, has long lags, and sometimes does not respond at all.

I'm constantly following the CPU utilization through Team-Viewer remote control, and it rarely goes beyond 30%.

Any suggestions will be more than welcome !
Thanks, Yair

Welcome to the forum.

Remove the priority setting for MC.  It isn't needed and can cause problems.

Hi Jim
Thanks for that!
I actually set the high priority to resolve this behavior in the first place, so I cant say if it made a big difference...
Cheers, Yair
