Hi all!
I'm new with JR, just trying it, and liked it already)
But it lacks 3 imho useful things.
1. In JR it's not possible to make screenshot and screenlist from video.
2. there's no framestep forward and backward.
3. Subtitles doesn't move in the black area under videoframe.
Seems strange to me, that such a powerful media center lacks features, that have many other (even much weaker) players.
Can someone say, is there any chance to see this functionality in JR? It'll be great!
Thanks in advance, and sorry for possible mistakes, i'm not a native english speaker!)

So? No one thinks this is useful?

1. In JR it's not possible to make screenshot and screenlist from video.

You can grab individual frames for playing video by Right Click > Window > Screen Grab.  It doesn't work with madVR, though, so you can only do it in Red October Standard.

It cannot do one of those screenshot "index" JPG/PNGs like MPC-HC can, though, if you're looking for that.  I don't know that there's a lot of demand for that feature.

2. there's no framestep forward and backward.

I think there used to be a single-frame seek hotkey, but I can't find it if so.  MC isn't designed as a video editor, though, so I'm not sure why you need this (especially since almost everything you play in MC will be temporally compressed, meaning there really are not "individual" frames).  You can seek by any amount of given milliseconds, though, via a MCC command, which you can then map to a hotkey yourself if you'd like.  MCC_SEEK_FORWARD (10034) and MCC_SEEK_BACK (10035) both can be used to seek like so:

mc18.exe /MCC 10034,30

Seeks ahead 30 milliseconds.

3. Subtitles doesn't move in the black area under videoframe.

Not sure what you mean by this.

Sometimes you want to step through frames to see a detail in a fast moving scene.  I've often wished there was some-way of moving at the very least very slowly through a scene.

Some sort of easy-to-trigger "slow mo mode" would be pretty sweet for things like sports.

Imagine:

A single keypress. MC skips back, say, 45 seconds, and then plays in slow-mo up until the point where you had originally hit the keypress, upon which it resumes playback at normal speed.  If you hit the keypress multiple times in succession, it keeps seeking backwards an additional "hunk" of time, and will slow-mo up until the original playhead location (allowing you to instant replay longer hunks if needed).  Hitting Play again while in Instant Replay mode would immediately resume normal playback (for accidents or neverminds).

This is one of those features (slow-mo/frame step) I request every so often. I remember Jim once saying he agreed it was a good idea and should be implemented.

There's been a few requests for it lately too.

Ps - the subtitle thing the OP is talking about relates to repositioning them to the bottom of the screen, where the bottom black bar appears in a 2.40:1 movie.

If you search the Forum for "subtitles" you should find a very recent discussion about this.
