Thanks for the earlier advice on downloading version 8.  Unfortunately it isn't getting very far.  The MJ Setup box come up, works for a few minutes, and then pops up an error box that states, "Errors encountered while performing the operation.  Look at the information window for more details"  

I don't see an info window and when you click "ok" the error disappears and the setup box just sits.

It may help if you post some info like

Full MJ Version Not Just MJ 8.0 (Latest Version is 8.0.234)

OS Info Windows 3.1, Windows 95, Windows 98 etc...

System info: 16 Megs ram, 32 Megs Ram etc...

Maybe someone from J River Or Someone Else Who Has Had This Problem Can Help.

You may want to try To Update your Video Driver.

I have also had this. MJ 8.0.247 AND 8.0.233, but not 8.0.237

W2K, 512Mb RAM, 14Gb free drive space.

sorted it at least I think.

MJ either crashed or did not close itself correctly. It appeared to be not running, but it had at least two processes running in Task Manager.

At last a use for that 'Analysing Devices' message!

Now to work out how to turn off those mega-me screens (248) when I cannot read the screen.
