Have to stop after a long pause
« on: July 12, 2013, 02:05:03 pm »

If I leave an audio playing list on pause for a "long" time (sorry, I cannot be more accurate on this), MC (18.0.206) will not resume playback. I have to stop and relad the playlist.

Many thanks again for your help.

What output mode are you using in Options > Audio?

WASAPI rolls silence and ASIO optionally rolls silence on pause, and I would expect that to work forever (unless the machine S3 sleeps, in which case it's going to depend on the driver).

Hello MAtt,

yes I'm using ASIO.

Should I unckeck the "play silence on pause" option in the ASIO setting window ?

Many thanks again,

If you already have that option checked, it means we'll continue playing silence while paused.

So I'm not sure what is happening.  Maybe a network drive is disconnecting or sleeping or something else after a certain amount of inactivity?

If you're going to stop for a long time, the most efficient thing is to push the 'Stop' button since that releases any resources used for playback.
