Jukebox to replace ID3v1 tags?
« on: March 16, 2002, 07:59:38 am »

I noticed that Jukebox does write both v1 and v2 tags. I only want v2 and v1 even being removed when editing tag data. Is that possible?

blabla,
Try again. KingSparta is the resident tag expert.
You're not from Switzerland are you?
I used to know a "blablafish" from there. I was "Tripod8" then.

How about dog tags? Either kind.
That came to mind because I just hauled my 3 medium to large dogs down to get their tags in the front of my pickup. Great fun. Or at least THEY thought so.

my county wants to tax my cats

1. They stay inside
2. declawed
3. they are all fixed
4. they have all shots

I told them they can't count my cats if I have any, and if they want to they need to get a search warrant. Then my lawyer send them a letter to them telling them to stay off my property.

If a file has no tag at all jukebox should only write an v2 tag. If it already has a v1 tag it should remove it from the file and write a v2 tag instead.

Try this

Settings, Plug-In Manager, Select "Input", Then "MP3 Plugin", Then "Config"

Change The Settings To:

Id3v1 Save Don't Save (Remove Existing)
Id3v2 Save (Create If Necessary)

KS,
I never got straight exactly why V2 tags are not as good as V2 tags. 'Splain please.
CVIII

HTH,
1 - A large Yellow Lab who thinks he's my child. Maybe because I treat him like one.
2 - A mixed something that looks like a multihued mop. Maybe part Border Collie.
3 - A Shepard/something mix. Sometimes I would swear she is half coyote. She has that look in her eye and can stalk and catch squirrels and rabbits better than a cat.

The first one is the only one I actually picked out and that was from the Humane Shelter. The others just showed up one day and never left.

Well They Suck Also But

With ID3v1 you Do Not Need To Rewrite The Whole Dang File Every Time You Edit A tag

On A Programing Stand Point It Is Easyer To Write A Sub For

With ID3v1 I Am Not Happy With The 30 Chr Limit, It Would Be Better If It Was A 60 Chr Limit Or Something per field, 256 Chrs And Not 128 Chrs As Id3v1 is.

I think there should be a Id3v1.2

the last 128 chrs should remain the same, but the added 128 chrs could be placed before the last 128 chrs and this would allow the fields to be extended
but stay compatable with id3v1.1

Id3v1.1 tag
"TAGDeborah Cox - Things Just Ain'Dance Party 1998              Ultimate Dance Party 1998     2002Comment---------------------#"

"TAG" must be at eof - 127 to be a valid id3v1 tag
# = Where The Track # is for id3v1.1

Note the tag is slightly scrunched due to forum formating
