Good idea, KingSparta. I tried updating my ATI drivers (from Dell) and thought things were goning good, but then... I got though 22 min. of tunes (a bit longer than normal) and then got the same message. It happens like this:

First a generic windows error (white box, black text) says--

Media Jukebox, An error has occurred in your program...

There are two choices, close, ignore. When I click ignore, I then get the more familier GPF error dialog with--

MEDIA JUKEBOX caused a general protection fault in module DIBENG.DLL at 0003:00000fa9.

Any other ideas? I have been running the Visualizations (not the studio). Off to try disabling Visualizations. Bummer.

1. Turn the colors and or size down, and see what happens
2. Update Video Board If It Is Old
3. Buy A New Computer

Maybe if you post some of your system info someone can help more (MJ, Help, System Info, Cut Paste to Forum)

(Sigh...)

Well, disabling vis was no help. My sys info is:

Media Jukebox  8.0.227

CPU: Intel Pentium II 264 MHz MMX
Memory: Total - 163 MB, Free - 47 MB
Resource Info: System - 53 %, GDI - 73 %, User - 53 %
OS: Microsoft Windows 98 SE

Internet Explorer: 6.0.2600.0000
ComCtl32.dll: 5.50.4704.1100
Shlwapi.dll: 6.00.2600.0000
Shell32.dll: 4.72.3812.600
wnaspi32.dll: 2, 0, 0, 0 , ASPI for WIN32 DLL, Copyright © Adaptec 1995
Aspi32.sys: N/A

I am running my display at 1024x768 (a reasonable setting on a 19" mon) with High Color 16bit. I am not sure what option 2 KingSparta mentioned is (my video card is on board). And I hope option 3 was said with tounge-in-cheek!

My machine is a Dell Optiplex GXa 266. Yup, she's a little old, but I should not have to  invest in a new machine for a 'jukebox'.

Gonna try redusing colors to 256... off to the testing fields.

KingSparta- glad it was a (little) joke. I plan on this machine being part of my stero system and really don't want to invest in s new mchine for one (simple?) task.

Anyway, the whole 256 colors thing was a bust! Let's just say the machine did not like the idea. I have no idea what MJ would have thought.

Now that things are back I am trying default display settings otherwise-- apperance, background. We'll see.

I know I've seen other people post this error message. Where they all helped by updating video drivers?
