I have sound forge audio studio 10. When I updated a few months ago from 9 10 10 (with MC18), it gave the same error message. I could not get it to work with my factory DVD bought version. A search of the internet seems to reveal that Sound Forge (whether studio or the real thing) has a long history of this problem. I was not able to identify a satisfactory cause or solution.
In a fit of desperation, I downloaded the latest version instead of using the DVD version I had bought. That worked fine and it has worked fine since, including with MC19
(I don't know my problem has anything to do with MC18 or not. The internet search did seem to indicate that there was likely a plugin somewhere on the system that it didn't like.
