I'm making a category view of tv shows that will eventually be for theatre view.

Using the expression tvinfo(namedisplay) (In the dialogue that also contains the expression, the sorting settings are set to Date (Newest First), I've tried date imported but still no luck)

The rules for files display is set to limit the number to 10 or so. I'm making this as a quick & dirty view to see most recent imported episodes. It works as expected until I limit the number of items in the view. Then the order gets messed up.

It seems that limit modifier is acting like shuffle and limit number.

The strange thing is that I use this in a smart list to sort my 100 most played and the order doesn't change with or without the modifier, It seems that rules for file display are ignoring sorting settings specific to an expression. It it supposed to be like that?

Try looking for rogue data in the artist & album fields first. This was the cause of the last issue like this I had with TV- MC seems to sometimes add the date in the album field.
