sudo zypper install libboost_regex1_53_0-32bit
and then a link
Code: [Select]
sudo ln -s -T /usr/lib/libboost_regex.so.1.53.0 /usr/lib/libboost_regex.so.1.49.0

The problem with not saving settings seems to be with Gnome 3, Cinnamon 2, etc. I tried on Debian 8 (testing/jessie), Fedora 20 and Mint 16.

Running the latest MC on Wheezy 7.3 with XFCE 4 doesn't seem to have this problem.

The boost api seems to be very dependent on the version. I see multiple versions for each distro. This is a bit of a pain. I may try to make it static.

Correct, however Ubuntu seems to be unaffected. Has anyone tried testing MATE yet? If not, I'll see if I can get it up and running in a VM tomorrow.

No, didn't try it with Mate.

However I do enable compositing in XFCE as it speeds certain things up quite a bit. MC doesn't seem to care about that.

Also, I found that under the distro's I listed above MC crashes more often than on Wheezy.
