Files "determined to be bad" in MC19....?
« on: January 25, 2014, 02:02:18 pm »

All my WMA files (WMA Pro to be exact) are not importing into my library...
Fresh install...
All associations checked...
Running Server 2012 R2
A total of 5939 WMA files.
Why??
Never had this problem with Win8

How can I force import them...?

I can't even play them in MC from Windows Explorer.

Are you using the latest build?  It's 19.0.108.

Can you play them with WMP?

R2 doesn't have WMP, but they play in VLC fine.

Update: tried installing DbPoweramp plugins and got WMA dll errors...
So I think 2012 R2 needs Media Streaming in Windows Server Essentials update pack, and to use that of course, you have to install Windows Server Essentials role to your config.
Updated library and it found and indexed all my WMA files.

Although, I'm not happy to have all this extra "overhead" running now...which is why I'm using Server 2012 R2 to begin with!

I wonder now that the library is updated, I can remove all of this...?

Update:
I was able to remove that server role from my setup and retain y library and MC functionality.

I'm surprised this hasn't be brought up before!
